Crown Quick Dry Multisurface Primer & Undercoat is a water-based two-in-one basecoat formulated to seal, prepare and block stubborn stains across a wide range of interior and exterior substrates. Use it on chipboard, hardwood, MDF, plywood, plasterboard, melamine, PVCu, brick, stone, glass, ceramic tiles and non-ferrous metal to create a sound, uniform foundation for your finishing topcoat.

Crown Quick Dry Multisurface Primer & Undercoat blocks tannin and water marks, offers excellent versatility, and replaces the separate primer and undercoat step on most decorating jobs around the home. It is touch dry in around 30 minutes and recoatable in about one hour, making it ideal when you want to finish preparation and the final coats in the same day. The water-based formulation has very low VOC content (trace, around 3 g/l, more than 99% solvent free) and is supplied in a recyclable metal pack, supporting healthier indoor air while decorating. Apply with a synthetic bristle brush or roller, and clean tools with cold, clean water. Two coats are recommended on bare or porous surfaces; one coat is often enough on previously painted, sound surfaces. Use Crown Quick Dry Multisurface Primer & Undercoat with water-based or solvent-based topcoats, including Crown’s Quick Dry Gloss and Quick Dry Satin ranges for fast same-day finishing. For tricky stains, glossy substrates or unusual materials, allow extra time between coats and test a small area first to confirm adhesion.
