This draught excluder strip is ideal for timber or uPVC window and door frames where an original seal has perished, gone brittle or gone missing altogether. It suits anyone carrying out a winter draught-proofing job around the home, and works well alongside letterbox and threshold seals to reduce cold air movement through a frame. If you are noticing a cold spot beside a window or an ill-fitting door, this is a straightforward, low-cost first step before considering a full frame replacement. Choose your colour from the options above to match your existing frame finish.
Older timber-framed windows and doors are common across Wicklow and the wider county, and gaps around them widen as the frame moves with the seasons — this EPDM strip stays flexible and rot-proof through an Irish winter, unlike foam seals that compress and perish. Fitting is straightforward: clean and dry the frame rebate, then peel back the backing and press the strip firmly into place along its length.
