About this product
Description
Lowe Metal & Machinery Paint is a two-in-one rust paint for metal that combines primer and topcoat in a single satin-finish product. Made by Curust Industries in Greystones, Co. Wicklow, it can be brushed, rolled or sprayed directly onto rust, chemically binding to the surface and holding back further corrosion on gates, railings, sheds and machinery.
Key features
- Primer and topcoat in one coat system, so no separate undercoat is required
- Chemically bonds to surface rust and neutralises it to stop further corrosion
- Satin finish suited to gates, railings, sheds, machinery and other metal surfaces
- Flexible, microporous coating that will not crack or flake as timber expands
- Heat resistant to 80 degrees Celsius, so it also suits radiators and hot water pipes

Suitable for use on old or new metal as well as wood and most plastics, this rust paint for metal needs only minimal surface preparation: a wire brush to remove loose material, plus a wipe to clear oil and dirt. If you are working on a surface that is still damp, the formula can still be applied, and once cured it will accept most other paints as an overcoat. Where thinning is needed for spray application, Curust recommends no more than 10% by volume of white spirit or xylene, added gradually. Designed for gates, railings, shed frames, farm gates and general workshop machinery, two coats build a protective finish intended to hold up against the Irish climate for years.
