Hug Rug, who make the My Mat range, pair the rubber surround with a coir insert: the surround works to scrape the worst mud from shoes while the insert traps dirt and moisture. Hug Rug lists the surround for indoor and outdoor use and recommends a sheltered spot outside to extend the life of the mat.
