About this product
Description
Owatrol E-B (Emulsa-Bond) is a water-based bonding primer that is stirred directly into emulsion or masonry paint before the first coat, helping the paint grip chalky, powdery or otherwise unstable surfaces instead of peeling away. It penetrates deep into the substrate to bond that first coat firmly, so a separate primer coat is not needed. Choose your size from the options above.
Key features
- Stirs directly into water-based emulsion or masonry paint — no separate priming coat
- Penetrates chalky, powdery or crumbling brickwork and render to stabilise the surface
- Does not alter the colour of the paint it is mixed into
- Improves adhesion between the first and second coats for a more durable finish

Ideal for unstable, chalky or powdery walls where ordinary paint would flake or peel soon after application. It is also suitable for use undiluted, to block a difficult substrate such as aluminium or copper before painting. It helps to isolate tannin stains on oak beams and previous water marks or soot on ceilings, so they do not bleed through the new paint. Because the first coat mixed with this bonding primer does the job of both primer and paint, it saves a separate priming step on interior plaster and similar substrates, while the bonding action helps the finished paintwork resist wear and impact over time.
