Description
Sadolin Wet Wood Decking Stain is the only exterior decking stain in the Sadolin range formulated to be applied directly to wet or dry wood — so you do not need to wait for the deck to dry after cleaning or in unpredictable Irish weather. The water-based satin formula offers advanced UV protection, resists peeling and flaking, and contains biocides that actively defend against mould and algae growth.
Recommended uses:
- Exterior timber decking — softwood and hardwood
- Garden and patio decking boards
- Other exterior horizontal timber surfaces
Not suitable for surfaces previously coated with varnish or paint.
Coverage: Up to 10m² per litre. A 2.5L tub covers approximately 25m² per coat. Three coats are recommended; apply each coat in the same direction as the wood grain. For a 25m² deck with three coats, plan for ~7.5L of product.
Drying time:
Touch dry: 2 – 4 hours
Recoat time: 4 – 6 hours
Application: Apply by brush, working along the wood grain. Before applying, wash the surface with a mild detergent and rinse thoroughly. Remove any algae with a fungicidal wash. Sand lightly with 240-grit sandpaper along the grain, then remove dust and degrease by wiping with a clean cloth dampened with methylated spirits. Do not apply if rain is forecast or if temperatures are below 8°C or above 25°C. The wet-wood claim covers residual moisture after cleaning — not active rainfall. Ready to use — do not dilute. Clean tools with warm soapy water immediately after use.
