Description
Zinsser Cover Stain is a solvent-based, stain-blocking primer-sealer available as a liquid in tins or as a fast-drying aerosol for spot work. It blocks water, smoke, mould and nicotine stains permanently, adheres to surfaces without sanding, and is compatible with any solvent-based or water-based topcoat.

This Zinsser Cover Stain primer is suitable for interior and exterior wood, metal and masonry where a fast-recoat, stain-blocking primer is needed before topcoating, and new wood trim can be primed, sanded and topcoated the same day thanks to the quick recoat window. On exterior surfaces the formulation delivers good penetration and flexibility on dimensionally unstable wood panelling and trim, where some oil-based primers struggle. If you only need to seal a small water mark, a single knot or a repaired patch, the 400ml aerosol is designed for spot work and priming small objects without opening a full tin.
